Niles District Library events

NILES — The Niles District Library seeks to build a community of lifelong learners who want to make Niles their lifelong home. A library card is not required to participate in any programs. All programs are free.

Monday, Dec. 17

6 to 7 p.m. —Tween Game Night

Tweens are invited to join in a game night. There will be XBox and board games out, as well as art and crafts supplies. Snacks provided. This activity is ideal for children ages 9 to 12.

7 to 8 p.m. Happy Destiny Group

The purpose of A.A. group meetings is for A.A. members to share their experience, strength, and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and to help others recover from alcoholism. Open meetings are available to anyone interest in the program or recovery.

Tuesday, Dec. 18

10:30 to 11 a.m. —Passport Pals

The community is invited to join the library each Tuesday for a special story time tour of the world. Each week, there will be books, songs, a craft, and other super surprises relating to the special country of the month.

Noon — Niles Noon Optimist Club

Niles Noon Optimist Club will be hosting a music performance by the Niles High School Jazz Band. The concert is open to the public.

6 to 6:30 p.m. — Chips and Chapters

This is a read-aloud storytime. Library staff will read aloud from a chapter book, while children eat chips and follow along. This is for all ages.

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. — Lego Building Challenge

People are invited to make any creation and show it to the Youth Services staff.
