Erma Louise Tyler, 97, of Middlebury, Indiana, died peacefully Sunday morning, Dec. 2, 2018, in the comfort of her family’s presence.

She was born Nov. 12, 1921, the third and youngest to Charles and Mayme Jeffers. She married Douglas Elias Tyler Oct. 14, 1939, in Mishawaka. After more than forty years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1982.

Erma enjoyed playing solitaire and doing puzzle books and crosswords. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Lawrence Welk. She was an avid newspaper reader and would read it from front to back daily. She was devoted to being in church every Sunday throughout her entire life.

Erma will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jean Martin, of Three Rivers, Michigan and Norma J. Tyler, of North Webster, Indiana; one granddaughter, two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; two great-great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather from Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis.

Mrs. Tyler will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Douglas, in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Penn Township, Michigan.
