Photo story: Cookies and Canvas draws more than 200 to Howard-Ellis fundraiser

People packed the old gym at Howard-Ellis to take part in the event. The PTO said more than 200 people were expected to attend.

NILES — Howard-Ellis Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization hosted a Cookie and Canvas event Thursday, Dec. 6.
Families were invited to come together for a night of painting, refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus. Art teacher Richelle Bower taught those who attended how to paint a festive reindeer. Proceeds for the event were raised assist in costs for field trips, scholarships, school store and library funding. (Leader photos/KELSEY HAMMON)
