Police investigating drive by shooting in Niles Township

NILES TOWNSHIP — A Niles Township home was targeted in a drive by shooting early Thursday morning on Lawndale Avenue, according to Detective Lt. Greg Sanders, of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred at 2:53 a.m. Deputies responded to 1126 Lawndale Ave. when it was reported that shots were fired and discovered the residence had been struck several times during a drive by. Police said that no one was struck or injured inside the home. No arrests have been made yet.

Detectives and Evidence Techs assisted the Road Patrol Deputies, along with several other jurisdictions, including the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau, Pokagon Tribal Police, Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Dowagiac Police Department.
