LETTER: Congratulations, Rangers

Published 9:24 am Thursday, December 6, 2018

As a former Cassopolis Public Schools student, I congratulate the Rangers not only on their recent impressive season and outstanding playoff run, but on the sustained success the team has experienced in recent seasons under Coach Purlee.

In 1973, my father, Gilbert Dunn, became superintendent in Cassopolis (where he successfully championed the millage increase that allowed the current high school to be built), and I know he would have been extraordinarily proud of what today’s student-athletes just achieved. (As an interesting side note, my father’s job just prior to joining moving our family to Cassopolis was as superintendent in New Lothrop. Had Cass squared off against New Lothrop for the D7 championship, my family would have been rooting for the Rangers!)

Congratulations, again, to the Rangers, and special greetings from the Dunn siblings to all who remember our dad!
