KALAMAZOO —  Western Michigan senior center John Keenoy has officially accepted his invitation to the East–West Shrine Game.

The 2019 East–West Shrine Game will be the 94th version of the all-star college football exhibition which benefits Shriners Hospital for Children.

The contest will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida at 3 p.m. on Jan. 19 and will be televised on the NFL Network. Team practices will be held Monday, Jan. 14 through Thursday, Jan. 17.

The game will feature more than 100 FBS players who are also 2019 National Football League draft prospects. In the week prior to the game, scouts from all 32 NFL teams will attend team practices.

Keenoy has started every game played at Western Michigan since his freshman season (50 of 51 possible contests), only missing one game over the last four years due to injury. As a junior, he was a first team All-Mid-American Conference selection and was named first team All-MAC by Phil Steele.

He earned second team All-MAC honors as a sophomore, helping lead WMU to a MAC Championship, Goodyear Cotton Bowl appearance and a No. 15 overall national ranking. He was named to watch lists for the Rimington Trophy and the Outland Trophy the last two seasons.

Western Michigan finished the 2018 regular season with a 7-5 overall, 5-3 MAC record. The Broncos will learn of a possible bowl destination on Sunday.
