May 16, 1937 — Nov. 10, 2018

Billie D. Fretz, 81, Pensacola, Florida, and originally of Fairmont City, Minnesota, passed into God’s hands, to her eternal home on Nov. 10, 2018. A long-time resident of Shalimar, Florida; Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Sanford, North Carolina and of Dowagiac and Niles, she worked in the dry-cleaning industry and several automotive manufacturing plants.

Mrs. Fretz was the hardest working and most devoted help mate a man could ever ask for — a living example of Proverbs 31. She often sacrificed her own wants and desires to promote her husband in his endeavors. Billie was never idle with her hands and deeds in the support of her husband, home, children and grandchildren.

Upon retirement and moving to Pensacola, Florida in the early 1990’s, Billie was known for making cakes for the Women’s Auxiliary at VFW Post #240 and often baking cookies and other items for friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Fretz was a member of America Chapter #234, Order of the Eastern Star in Benton Harbor, a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and VFW.

“All I ask is that you, raise to me the parting glass, I know they would wish me one more day to stay, but since it falls unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not, I’ll gently rise and I’ll softly call, Good night and joy be with you all.”

All tributes should be made to the Shriner’s Children Hospital in lieu of flowers. Billie’s final resting place is at Barracas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. Mrs. Billie Fretz was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Fretz Sr. and is survived by her sons David and Wendy Fretz of Enterprise, Alabama and Robert Fretz Jr., of Pensacola, Florida, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren
