Lloyd L. Clendenin Jr., 64, of Dowagiac, passed away, Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at the Moose Lodge in Dowagiac on Monday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions in Lloyd’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at newellchapel.com.

Lloyd was born on Dec. 29, 1953, to Lloyd and Joyce (Behnke) Clendenin Sr., in Dowagiac. He graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1972.

On Sept. 29, 1973, he married the love of his life, Vicki Hunsberger in Dowagiac. Lloyd was known as a jack of all trades, working in construction and farming. He also worked at Jessup Door Company in Dowagiac as a millwright for more than 23 years. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, cooking and listening to Blues music. With his love for Blues music, every year he hosted a Blues Festival at his home. He had a love for animals, especially dogs. Him and his wife spent many years attending dog shows with their Cocker Spaniels. Lloyds most recent passion was cars, he purchased a 1963 Impala that he named “Pearl” and has spent the last year fixing and taking to car shows. Most of all he loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Clendenin, of Dowagiac; siblings, Sandy (Bernie) Jurgensen, of Dowagiac, Markle (Carole) Clendenin, of Dowagiac and Denise (Mike) Bouldrey, of Alabama and his beloved dogs, Luke, Lily and Buster.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, April Hunsberger and sister Pammy Thompson.
