Jerry Lee Hagenbuch, 84, of Vandalia, died peacefully early Saturday morning, Nov. 3, 2018, in the Timbers of Cass County.

Jerry was born July 19, 1934, in Three Rivers, the fifth of six children born to Floyd and Violet Hagenbuch Sr. He married Carole Ann Bailey April 2, 1955, in Angola, Indiana. She survives.

Jerry liked hunting, fishing, and archery. He was known to his golfing and bowling buddies as “Jake.” Jerry belonged to the Elks and the Moose lodges. His family says he was a comedian even up to his last days.

Jerry will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Caorle Hagenbuch, of Vandalia; two daughters, Deborah Motter, of Portage, Michelle (David) Gordon, of Vandalia; two sons, Stephen (Debbie) Hagenbuch, of Lawton, Clu (Kristine Widerquist) Hagenbuch, of Cassopolis; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nola Crain, of Kalamazoo; one brother, Kurt (Diane) Hagenbuch, of Three Rivers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bernadette Long, Deloris Hagenbuch; and one brother, Floyd Hagenbuch Jr.

The family will observe a private remembrance.
