Marcella “Tiny” Feirick, 93, of Cassopolis, went to be with her Savior, Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, in the comfort of her family’s presence.

Known to her mother as “Marci,” she was born April 23, 1925, in Hastings, Nebraska, the only child of Philip and Hazel (Lenz) Michael Jr.

She married Robert James Braden June 20, 1943, in Long Beach, California. Pastor Matzke, of Grace Evangelical Church, introduced her to the Lord Jesus as her Savior when she was twelve years old.

In 1982, she was baptized by immersion at Diamond Lake Baptist Church. She later married George S. Feirick May 29, 1982, in Cassopolis. Tiny was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Bob Braden, and her second husband, George Feirick.

Marcella was given the nickname “Tiny” by her first husband, Robert Braden, and she was a resident of Cassopolis from 1956 until 1996. During her years in Cassopolis, she was actively involved in the Cass County Fair as its Race Secretary, and in Diamond Lake Baptist Church, as pianist and Church Secretary. In addition, Tiny worked at Gould’s Department Store and is often remembered as the smiling servant in the Cassopolis Vigilant office.

Tiny loved the Lord Jesus, her family, and serving others — in that order. While her boys were in school, she was a hard-working homemaker, always available for her family’s needs. Tiny will most often be remembered for her service to Diamond Lake Baptist Church. Her quiet manner of “in the background” service to her church was her prime characteristic. After George died, Tiny was actively involved in military ministry at McConnell Air Force Base, Fort Riley (Kansas) and MobCom (USMC) in Kansas City, Missouri.

Tiny will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Michael and Ellen Braden, of White Lake, Michigan, James and Anita Braden, of Cassopolis and Guy and Debbie Braden, of Union, Michigan; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her many cousins from Nebraska to California.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis, with Tiny’s son, the Reverend Jim Braden, officiating. Tiny will be laid to rest next to her mother, Hazel Michael, in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis, Michigan.
