Adam Shepherd is a junior on the Niles cross country team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
AS: Winning track regionals back-to-back.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
AS: Not winning the Viking Stampede this year.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
AS: Coach (Tony) Todd, because he got me to where I am today.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
AS: Wrestling.
Why are sports an important part of a high school
experience?
AS: Sports are important, because it brings out a different side of people that you do not see every day.
How would you give away $50,000?
AS: I would fix the soccer field and give some to Niles cross country and track.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
AS: I would play way more video games.
What is the most
challenging thing for
you to do in your sport?
AS: The most challenging thing is to not fall behind better people in the race.
