Pearl Ann Burger, 59, of Niles, died unexpectedly of natural causes after collapsing at home on Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2018.

Pearl was born on Sept. 10, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dale Utah and Rena (Treat) Lynch. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Arkansas. Pearl moved to the Michiana area in 1980. Shortly after moving to the area she met her husband of 37 years, Randall Lee Burger. Randy and Pearl received their marriage vows on Aug. 15, 1981, at Grace United Methodist Church in Niles. Pearl was employed for a short time at the Niles Rural King Store, and most recently was a homemaker.

Pearl enjoyed caring for her family and others — whether pets, friends, or family this was her greatest joy. She also enjoyed traveling. Most recently she traveled with Randy and their son Nick to Saint Ignace, Michigan for the Annual Mackinac Bridge Tractor Crossing. This is an event that she has enjoyed for the past 3 years with Randy and Nick. While Up-North she enjoyed visiting Mackinac Island most especially the Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory on Surrey Hill. Her recent travels also included Yellowstone National Park and Alaska.

Surviving family includes her husband, Randy Burger and their son, Nicholas Lee Burger of Niles; her parents, Dale and Rena Lynch, of Clinton, Arkansas; her brother, Jason Dale (Keisha) Lynch, of Clinton and his children, Savanah Elizabeth and Corbin James; aunts and uncles, Jim Treat, Benny Treat, Brenda Versmesse, Pam (John) Torzewski, Lucille Humprey and Ed (Mary Lou) Lynch, and several cousins.

Also surviving are Randy’s parents, Carl and Sharon Burger; his brothers, Scott (Beth) Burger and Chad (Kim) Burger; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Pearl Burger will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at the Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home, 615 East Main Street in Niles with the Rev. Michael Smith of Niles officiating. Committal will follow at Mission Hills.
