Javond Ball is a junior on the Niles football team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
JB: Getting all-conference.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
JB: Not making it to the playoffs this year.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
JB: My dad, for always pushing me to do good.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
JB: Lining up being the line on the first offensive play.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
JB: They build some special bonds with others and teach a lesson.
How would you give away $50,000?
JB: I would give it to a charity in Detroit.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
JB: Learn how to be an ESPN announcer.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
JB: Staying calm and not let people get to me.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
JB: The ball being considered a forward or lateral passs.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
JB: That I give it my all every play.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
JB: Jump off a cliff, yes.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
JB: Jamison (Zimmerman) have an O’Dell (Beckum) catch.
