Michael David Mellinger, 62, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday Oct. 11, 2018, at Greenleaf Health Campus. He was born July 24, 1956, in Elkhart to the late Fred and Ila June (Bartlett) Mellinger.
Surviving is a brother, Mark (Jean) Mellinger, of Osceola; five nieces, Tonyia (Randy) Kopsick, of Elkhart, Tiffany Mellinger, of White Pigeon, Rosealle Alcala, Virginia Alcala and Lily Shafer, all of Niles.

Also surviving are two nephews, Tony Mellinger, of Wentzville, Missouri, Eddie Alcala, of South Bend and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
Michael graduated from Cassopolis High School in 1975 and attended Michigan State University. He enjoyed watching movies and was an avid reader. Michael worked as a CAD Programmer at C.T.I. in Elkhart for many years.
Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services. A celebration of life gathering will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday October 20, 2018 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.
