James L. Smith and Evelyn S. Smith, of Niles, celebrated their 50th anniversary on Oct. 12. The couple will celebrate the milestone with a family dinner in December.

James and Evelyn married Oct. 12, 1968, at the New Apostolic Church, off of 15th and Broadway streets.

James is a 1963 graduate of Niles High School. He retired from AT&T.

Evelyn is a 1966 graduate of Niles High School. She retired after working for Simplicity Pattern Co. and as a caregiver.

Their children are Ryan Lee, Carolyn Sue and Aaron James. Their grandchildren are Victoria Evelyn and Jameson Davis Smith.
