Jesse Halliburton was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Gates, Tennessee. He was one of five children born to the union of Raymond and Julie (McCorkle) Halliburton. His three brothers preceded him in death. He married Delores Thompson in 1961 in Dowagiac, and they had four children. Two daughters, Cynthia and Sabrina, preceded him in death.

During his lifetime, Jesse worked at Rudy Manufacturing, Du-well, and Jessups from where he retired. He confessed his faith at an early age, and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Jesse was a man befriended and loved by many.

Jesse is survived by a sister Annie Mae (Halliburton) Davis, of Pontiac, Michigan; daughters Dorothy Mae (Halliburton) Williams (Ronnie), also of Pontiac, Michigan, and Alicia Halliburton, of Lebanon, Tennessee; grandchildren Temeka Halliburton and Lenise Halliburton, of Benton Harbor, Jerome Atkins, of Grand Rapids and Shelena (Halliburton) Davis (Leonard), of Nashville, Tennessee; a niece Julia Davis, of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and cousins.

Jesse passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, in Dowagiac. A memorial service will take place  at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Clark Funeral Home, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Pastor Bryant Bacon officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10  to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
