Bob “BJ” Shelton, 79, passed away Sept. 14, 2018, in his Dowagiac home.

Bob was born on Dec. 18, 1938, to Buck and Mildred Shelton in Hayti, Missiouri.

Bob married the love of his life Linda Casper Shelton Aug. 4, 1979. They had 39 years of marriage and 41 amazing years of love together.

Bob at the age 10 found his passion for cars and became an auto mechanic. He served Berrien and Cass County for over 50 years in the auto service. He received recognition of more than 50 years for his hard work and dedication.

He was a service manager at Sprungs and Springsteens and owner of Bob’s Auto Service. Bob loved to golf, fish, hunt, and mostly watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.

He loved kids and always would play and make jokes. Bob loved to make biscuits and gravy and give hugs, kisses and always said I love you to his family! He always said “Look what I started!”

Bob is survived by his loving wife Linda Casper Shelton; children Robin (Paul) Richardson, Diana Tobin, Randy (Jackie) Shelton, Scott (Linda) Shelton, Jason (Shelly) Shelton; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and special friend Sue Griggs.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Mildred Shelton; son Harvey Dean and sisters Betty McCoy and Dorothy Jones.
