Beatrice “Bea” M. Hogue, 85, of Dowagiac, passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at her home.

A Graveside Service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at Sumnerville Cemetery in Niles, with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. The family would like to invite everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship following the service at Arthur Dodd Memorial Park, 61437 Creek Rd, Niles. Beatrice “Bea” M. Hogue

Bea was born on Feb. 10, 1933, in Dowagiac to Ray and Ella (Stafford) Karn. On July 4, 1985, she married the love of her life Hollis Hogue in Dowagiac. She worked as a machine operator at Contech Castings for more than 25 years before retirement. Bea loved her animals, she raised goats, chickens, and rabbits. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Western movies. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Bea is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Hollis Hogue; children Lee (Diane) Karn, of Cassopolis, Elizabeth (Lavern) Phillips, of Decatur and Cindy Vanasse of Marcellus; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents; step-children Theresa Land and Brenda Rogers; grandchildren Vernon Phillips and Patrick Colley.
