UPDATED: Poorman, Adams win fourth annual Ranger Run

CASSOPOLIS — A long awaited victory for Amy Adams finally came in the fourth annual Ranger Run Saturday morning.
Adams had finished in the runner-up position in each of the previous three events.
First it was to Julie Allen in 2015, and then it was to Emma Pachey each of the past two races.
But on Saturday, Adams had no challengers in winning the event with a time of 21:47 in less than ideal race conditions.
Temperatures already soaring near 80 degrees and high humidity greeted the runners as they approached the starting line.
Adams, along with Deric Poorman, surged to the front early and held off all challengers.
“It was probably one of the most humid races I have run in,” Adams said. “The air was thick and it was hard to breathe. But I think I did pretty good considering how much I drank and the conditions.”
Adams was also happy to finally pick up that second championship on her home course.
“It has been a couple of years, so I enjoyed it.”
Poorman picked up his second title as he finished with a time of 19:31. Poorman also won in 2015.
