Robert Lee Ottinger Sr., 70, of Marcellus, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.

A celebration of life service will take place at noon Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur with Pastor James Abshagen officiating.

Those wishing to visit with the family may do so one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon.

Robert was born on Nov. 6, 1947, to the late George and Pauline (Osborn) Ottinger.

He graduated from Dowagiac High School.

Robert was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved children and teaching them how to hunt and fish.

Robert is survived by his partner of 33 years, Robin Gales, children, Robert Ottinger Jr., Pamela Ottinger-Purucker, Michael (Amy) Madden Jr., Angela Madden and Christie Madden, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline, brothers, John Ottinger, Lesley Ottinger, Richard Ottinger and Donnie Ray Ottinger, sisters, Barbara King, Dorthy Starrett, Flossie Huff, Betty Essex, Sue McDaniel and his first wife, Martha Ottinger, mother of Robert Jr. and Pamela.
