Jack J. Bright, of Osceola

Jack J. Bright, 85, of Osceola, formerly of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Jack was born on May 17, 1933, in South Bend to the late Harold and Ruth (Miltonberger) Bright. He served his country by enlisting in the United States Army.

On Sept. 6, 1957, he married the former Esther L. Kelley.

Jack was a very social person. He enjoyed having breakfast with friends at Rise and Shine Cafe in later years at OC Cafe in Osceola. He would then head to Wal-Mart and visit with his many friends and acquaintances. When the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along he found a new “love”.

He was a longtime member of Coulters Chapel Church in Niles, until moving to Osceola, where he became a faithful member of the Cedar Road Missionary Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Esther; a Brother, Don Bright; and a sister, Mary Jo Kiste.

Jack is survived by daughters, Ruth (Paul) Lightner of Osceola and Janice Bright of South Bend; two grandchildren, Jerry and Paula Lightner; three great-grandchildren, Jaxin, Lukas and Matthew; three brothers, Brian (Daisy) Bright of Niles, Gene Bright of Niles and George “JR” Bright of Florida along with several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held at Cedar Road Missionary Church, 56907 Cedar Rd. Osceola, Indiana 46561 on Friday, June 22 at 11 a.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. following the service.
