Jon Boller, 72, of South Bend, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.

Jon was born on Oct. 2, 1945, to the late Jack L. and Caroline (Humphrey) Boller in Niles, Michigan.

After graduating from Niles High School, Jon went on to enlist in the U.S. Army, serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He furthered his education at Indiana University South Bend, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in business. He was manager of sales for Tyler Refrigeration, retiring after 40 years of service. On Nov. 26, 1966, he wed Dianne J. Racht at a ceremony at St. Mary Catholic Church in Niles.

Jon enjoyed fishing, building R.C. Planes, woodworking and mostly playing golf. He was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Cubs fan and never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Julianne Minnear; and a great-granddaughter, Monroe Grace Learnard.

Jon is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Dianne Boller, of South Bend; daughters, Monique (James) Nielsen, of South Bend, Tiffany Guyton, of North Aurora, Illinois and Kimberly (Gabriel) Drake of Middletown, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Gina) Boller, of Orlando, Florida. He will also be missed by many extended family members and close friends.

Full Military Honors for Jon will take place at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, may 29, 2018, at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 15501 Dickman Road in Augusta, Michigan. Friends and family will gather at the staging entrance of the cemetery at 2:15 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of his beloved great-granddaughter, Monroe Grace Learnard, to Children’s Hospital of Illinois, NICU, 530 NE Glen Oak Ave, Peoria, Illinois, 61603.
