Wendell V. Linde, 48, of Niles, passed away on April 6, 2018, of natural causes.

He was born on April 21, 1969, in Niles, and raised by his loving parents, Werner and Gloria Linde.

Wendell was a Niles High School graduate. He worked as a cook at several local restaurants and enjoyed traveling. He was always easy going and likeable, with a great sense of humor. He was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears enthusiast. He also valued time spent with family and catching a movie at the theater.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Ray Strickling; as well as a sister, Debbie Strickling-Molnar.

Wendell is survived by his parents, Werner and Gloria Linde, of Niles; siblings, Werner Linde, of Niles, Christina Mattiford, of Niles, Sandy Fisher, of Grand Rapids, Randy Watson, of Texas, Wanda Antisdel, of Bellingham, Washington, Theresa Hershberger, of Cassopolis, Rockie Strickling, of Niles; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless other friends and family members.

A memorial service will be take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Huntly Memorial Baptist Church with a luncheon following. Full military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and the American Legion Post 51. An interment will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
