Leonard Pompey, 80, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Tuesday, May 8. 2018 in Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagaic.
He was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Cassopolis, Michigan, to Casper and Zarah Pompey.

He married Deanna Deloris King in 1957, in Cassopolis, Michigan. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents; two sisters, Flossie Monticue, Rosie Fordyce; one brother, Charles Pompey; and one brother in law, Bruce Monticue.
Leonard will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Debra Pompey; one son, Leonard “Deno” (Michelle) Pompey; six grandchildren, Aariel Norborg, Eric (Precilla) Norborg, Katina (Dennis Johnson) Pompey, Michael Pompey, Malik Pompey, Micalah Pompey; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Robert) Collins, Violet (Joe) Barber, Thelma (Willie) Rocket, Dixie (Solomon) Johnson, Patsy (Robert) Aloisio; brother, Leroy (Mary) Kennison; sister in law, Hattie Pompey; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will observe a private remembrance.
