Patricia I. Deeds, 90, of Niles, died peacefully at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at West Woods of Niles following an extended illness.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1927, in Niles to John F. and Ingaborg (Jorgensen) Baker.

She was graduated from Niles High School, and was employed in the offices of the former Buchanan plant of Clark Equipment Company for 25 years.

She has lived in Niles all of her life.

Pat was a member of the Pokagon United Methodist Church, and the Clark Retirees Management Club. She was a former member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Moose Lodge #499 in Buchanan, and Take Off Pounds Sensibly — TOPS.

She enjoyed playing golf, usually at Plym Park or Brookwood, and spending winters in Florida. On April 13, 1946, in Niles she married Dale Brenner, with whom she celebrated the 30th anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on Jan. 27, 1977.

Later, on June 13, 1981, in Pokagon she married Everett Deeds with whom she celebrated 26 years prior to his death on Aug. 14, 2007.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, William Brenner on July 19, 1978, and Allen Brenner on Feb. 13, 2012, Allen’s wife, Suzi Brenner; a brother, John F. Baker; and Pat’s faithful pet dog, Toby. Surviving family includes her children, Terry D. (Debbie) Brenner and Pamela (Joseph) Duval, both of Niles; a step-daughter, Patty DeBoever of Phoenix, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and Pat’s sister, Ida Mae Burdick of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Pat Deeds will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Pokagon United Methodist Church, 31393 Kansas Street, Dowagiac, Michigan 49047 with Pastor Brenda E. Gordon of the church officiating. Committal will follow at Union Cemetery.
