Lillian F. Easton, 94, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at First Christian Church, 201 Oak St. Dowagiac, with Kelly Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Garden.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on April 18, 2018, at the church.

Lillian was born on Jan. 6, 1924, to Jiles and Nora (Pardue) Flora in Smith’s Grove, Kentucky. She attended Smith’s Grove High School and then earned a business degree.

On Oct. 7, 1944, Lillian married Billy Easton in Baltimore, Maryland. She worked for Sunstrand Heat Transfer as their Payroll Clerk before she retired after 33 years of service. Lillian also was worked for First Christian Church as the church secretary for 10 years, a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and started and ran the food pantry at the church for 10 years.

Lillian is survived by her daughter Martha Messner of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother Richard (Ann) Flora of Niles. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Jiles and Nora Flora; husband Billy Easton; daughter Carol Ann Zepik; and sons-in-law, Frank Messner and George Zepik.
