A 32-year-old New Haven resident died as the result of a traffic accident Friday. The driver, Gary May, was northbound on Kessington Road when he lost control of his Jeep Cherokee for an unknown reason and ran off the side of the road, resulting in a fatal crash.

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reported that he was called to investigate the Mason Township crash at 10:30 p.m. on Friday. May ran off the road and his vehicle turned over several times in a field and ejected him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Safety belts were not used, while intoxicants and speed may have been a factor. This case remains under investigation.
