Zita M. Danaher, 58, of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held starting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Round Oak Revisited, 137 S. Front Street, Dowagiac. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac.

Zita was born on Nov. 12, 1959, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, to Thomas and Shirley (Gley) Gignac. She was a 1978 graduate of Oak Lawn High School. On March 17, 1990, she married Stephen P. Danaher.

Zita worked for over 24 years as a short order cook at Hampshire Country Club Golf Course in Dowagiac. She loved her job and the people – especially all the golfers. Zita was very fond of her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Zita is survived by her husband Steve; her children, John Thomas Danaher of Granger and Anita Zita Danaher of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Patrick, Sean and Aidan; and her father, Thomas ‘Red’ Gignac of Dowagiac.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley and a brother, Michael.
