Jeff Kuhn, 39, of Niles, formerly of LaPorte, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2018, of natural causes.

He was born in Michigan City, Indiana to Stephen and Jann (Deuitch) Kuhn on April 15, 1978.

After graduating from LaPorte High School, Jeff worked in construction. Anyone that knows Jeff knows how much he loved his family, his wife Charity and sons Jackson and Christian. He was very proud of his son Christian and would brag about him to anyone that would listen. Jackson was the joy of his life and he cherished him very much. Charity was the love of his life that he would do anything for.

Jeff had many friends and he cared deeply for all of them. Anytime Jeff would visit anyone he would instantly start fixing stuff that you didn’t even know was broken. He had an eye for it. He loved to fish and was on the water every day. He was a great artist, loved to cook could make you a feast out of nothing and was proud of it. If you were in need he was the first to give you the shirt off his back and the last dime in his pocket. He was very proud of his craftsmanship and the many things he could build out of nothing.

He is survived by his wife, Charity Rose Horton-Kuhn of Niles; his two sons, Christian Kuhn of South Bend, Jackson Kuhn of Niles; his parents, Stephen and Jann (Deuitch) Kuhn of South Bend; his brother Patrick Kuhn of South Bend; two step-daughters; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Faith Horton of Niles; Charity Rose’s siblings, Christopher Horton of Arkansas, Christina Horton-Lott, Dorothy Horton- (Daryl) O’Brien of Niles, Andrea Horton- (Shawn) Cole of Tennessee, Dustin Horton of Alaska, Daniel (Melissa) Horton of Texas, Ashley Horton- (Jeremiah) Dail of Tennessee, Hailey and Alyssa Horton of Niles; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless extended family members.

A time of visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with Recitation of The Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Jeff’s family will be celebrating his life with funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Brown Funeral Home.
