Susan J. Kring, 68, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
On Aug. 6, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana John and Helen (Niedosik) Sieczkarek welcomed their daughter, Susan Jean Sieczkarek.

After graduating from high school, Susan married the love of her life, William “Bill” J. Kring Sr., on June 29, 1968, at a ceremony in South Bend. In the summer of 1972, after two years of vocational schooling, Susan received her cosmetology license.
Susan was very artistic and also enjoyed sewing as well as a multitude of other crafts. She also loved tending to her garden, planting, harvesting, and then canning the crop. Susan looked forward to trips to the casino and even had her very own slot machine at home. While Susan enjoyed many hobbies, she will be remembered for her quiet faith and her love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Sieczkarek.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” J. Kring Sr.; her son, William “Bill” (Anna) Kring, Jr. of Portage; her daughter, Melissa Edwin of Niles; her grandchildren, Chelsea Ferenczi, Danny Ferenczi Jr., Katelyn Kring, Allison Kring, William Kring III, and Rachelle Edwin; a great-grandson, Zander; her siblings, John (Norma) Sieczkarek of Tennessee, Marylou (Albert) Vega of South Bend, Joan (Ed) Laskowski of South Bend, Frank (Terry) Sieczkarek of South Bend, and Julie (Tim) Seward of North Liberty; as well as Bill’s family, whom she loved as her own.
The Mass of Catholic Burial for Susan J. Kring will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Saint Mark Catholic Church by the Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C., assisted by Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C. A committal service will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with recitation of The Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
