Mary H. Palmer, 87, of Buchanan, left this earthly home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the Chalet of Niles.

Mary was born to the late Harry & Ellen (Sutters) Miller in Jackson, Mississippi on Jan. 11, 1931.

She married the late James A. Palmer at a ceremony in Jackson, Mississippi. To that union, two sons were born. For several years, before moving to Buchanan, she was the owner and head cook at the 400 Club and Restaurant in Jackson. Mary was a faithful member of Faith Apostolic Church in South Bend. She loved her family and treasured spending time with them.

She is preceded by her parents; her husband, James A. Palmer; her son, James Palmer; her brother, Haywood Miller; and her sister, Wilhelmina Frazier-Matten.

Mary is survived by her son, Michael (Marilynn) Palmer of Leesville, Louisiana; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; uncle, Robert Sutters of Jackson, Mississippi, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main Street in Niles, with her nephew Bishop Eddie Miller officiating. A time of visitation will begin one hour prior. Interment will be private at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
