CASSOPOLIS — More than 100 people were in attendance for the talent showcase hosted on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Ross Beatty Jr.-Sr. High School. Destined for Greatness, a mentoring program, hosted this event. Kim Brown coordinated more than 15 acts.

“We had a great turnout for our first venture of 2018,” Brown said. “The community got a little glimpse of the talent we have here in Cassopolis and the surrounding areas.”

The showcase had a number of dancers, speeches and singers, each with a positive message that helped celebrate Black History Month. Bettye Lee-Nichols also had artwork on display and for sale to the public. All proceeds of this event went to the League for Encouraging Empowerment to support the organization as it goes through the application process of applying to become a nonprofit organization.
