Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Blank, 81, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Buchanan Meadows.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1936, in South Bend to Kathryn and Michael Kish Sr. On Feb. 23, 1957, Kathy married James ‘Jim’ Blank at a ceremony at Our Lady of Hungary in South Bend. Kathleen was employed at Wheelock’s, Indiana Bell, St. Joseph Bank, St. Joseph Hospital all of South Bend, and a homemaker for many years. Kathleen was a devoted mother and wife whose heart’s passion was taking care of her family.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim; sons, Gary (Karen) Blank, Michael (Mary Jo) Blank, Robert Blank; daughter, Jeanne (Tony) Kostreba; sisters, Rosalie (Ron) Applegate, Terry (Rod) Heisey; grandchildren, Roberta (Jim) McClellan, Veronica Beadle, Mandy Owen, Joany Burkett, Michael Henderson, Justin Henderson, Derek Blank and several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Kathryn; son, Mark Blank and brother, Michael Kish Jr.

Visitation for Kathy will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Summit Church, 1700 W. River Road, Niles, MI 49120 with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
