Austin Franco is a senior on the Niles wrestling team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
AF: Final four at team state.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
AF: Lebron James, because he is the king.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
AF: Losing in a close match.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
AF: Giving up a takedown in Ohio.
How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?
AF: Run.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
AF: Cross country.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
AF: It teaches you life lessons.
How would you give away $50,000?
AF: I would give it to Niles athletics.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
AF: The Cleveland Cavaliers.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
AF: Get a job.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
AF: Making time for family and friends.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
AF: Locking hands.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
AF: “You have fast feet.”
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
AF: Watching Davin Simpson go out with three pins in Ohio.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
AF: Fishing.
