Jacqueline Marie Howard Hoyt, 74, who resided in Niles, passed from this earth on Feb. 17, 2018.

Jackie was born in Syracuse, New York on March 16, 1944. Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Jack Howard, mother, Eleanor Crabill and sister, Carolyn Hartz.

Jackie grew up in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from Central High School. She graduated from Memorial School of Nursing with an RN and later received her BSN from St. Francis. Jackie worked most of her nursing career in Family Practice.

In 1969, she married Arthur Hoyt, Sr. and in their 48 years together, they lived in Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

Jackie will be remembered for her beautiful smile and vibrant personality. She was full of life, sassy, passionate and energetic. If Jackie wanted to accomplish something, but did not possess the skill to do so, she learned and mastered it.

Jackie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Arthur Hoyt, Sr.; children, Toni (David) Mize, Terri (Jim) Hiland, Art (Gail) Hoyt III; siblings Patty (Rick) Hanna, Ed (DeeAnn) Crabill, Sue (Bill) Barnard, Greg (Billie) Crabill; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., South Bend. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 in the funeral home.
