Lorraine M. Shafer, 95, of South Bend, passed away at home on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018.

She was born on Aug. 28, 1922, in Baroda, Michigan, to the late Sherman and Helen (Unruh) Davis.

On Feb. 21, 1942, she married John Shafer who passed away on June 14, 2011.

She is also preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Sue McCorkle, her brother Edgar Davis and her sister Dixie Jane Davis.

Lorraine is survived by her sons, Bruce Allen (Toni Marie) Shafer of Greenfield, Indiana, and Scott Clay Shafer of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Virginia (Clay) Cochran of South Bend.

Visitation for Lorraine will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home 615 E. Main St. Niles.
