Cornerstone Alliance to offer QuickBooks workshop

BENTON HARBOR — Cornerstone Alliance is offering a workshop to benefit small business owners in Cass and Berrien counties.

The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance is offering a Closing QuickBooks at Year-End workshop. The class will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, at the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce offices, 811 Ship St., Suite 303, St. Joseph.

Cornerstone Alliance Small Business Services provides technical, business and financial assistance to small businesses with emphasis on income disadvantaged and women owned businesses. The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance and Microloan Program are funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Facilitated by QuickBooks ProAdvisor Anna Burke, the workshop will focus on:

• Establishing closing procedures

• Proper user security

• Verifying period balances

• Journal entries and other required adjustments

• Securing QuickBooks data

• Managing lists for obsolete data

• Archiving data

The workshop fee for Closing QuickBooks at Year-End is $50 and registration is open through Feb. 28. These workshops fill up quickly, according to officials.
