Deny White is a freshman on the Dowagiac wrestling team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
DW: Being a starter.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
DW: Getting pinned real fast.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
DW: My dad. He is always pushing me.
When are you the most nervous while you are
competing?
DW: Before a match.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
DW: Not making weight.
How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?
DW: As hard as I can.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
DW: Basketball.
Why are sports an important part of a high school
experience?
DW: Being able to push yourself in life.
How would you give away $50,000?
DW: I would give it to the high school.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
DW: Notre Dame football.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
DW: Go hunting and trapping.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
DW: Making weight.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
DW: Getting slammed.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
DW: I am a good athlete.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
DW: Riding a sling-shot ride.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
DW: Kody (Walker) beating the No. 1-ranked kid at 112-pounds.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
DW: Wrestling, because it is fun to do.
