Eddies rout Wildcats 43-29

THREE RIVERS — Visiting Edwardsburg remained atop the Wolverine Conference South Division with a 43-29 victory over Three Rivers Friday night.

The Eddies, who improved to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the Wolverine South, outscored the Wildcats 18-8 in the first quarter.
Three Rivers, who sits second in the South Division at 4-2, outscored Edwardsburg 12-7 in the second quarter to cut the Edwardsburg lead to 25-20 at halftime.

The Eddies regained control of the game in the third quarter and took a 35-25 advantage into the final eight minutes of action.

“This was a good win for us, but we have to continue to move forward one day at a time, one game at a time,” Edwardsburg coach Jon Pobuda said. “If we are able to do that, everything will fall into place for us. There are things we need to do better if we want to reach our goals and we have a little bit of time to take care of them. There is no doubt in my mind we will get where we want to be.”

Kaitlyn Zarycki led all scorers with 24 points for the Eddies, who also got eight points from Claire Bartz and seven points from Abbey Krugh.

The Wildcats (10-3) were led by Hailey Miller’s 11 points. Kali Heivilin added six points.
