Harry D. Noecker, 76, of Niles, passed away in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018.
Harry was born on Nov. 11, 1941, on the family farm in Cassopolis to the late Fred and Doris (Watson) Noecker. Harry is also preceded in death by an infant sister Betty.
On Sept. 13, 1963, in Niles, he married Janice McIntyre who celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Harry is survived by his wife Janice, their children, Carol (Jeff Strauss) Knight of Buchanan and Brian (Wendy) Noecker of South Bend; granddaughters, Victoria Knight, Breanna and McKayla Noecker, his sister, Barb (Bill) Evans and brother Roger Noecker, both of Niles. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
Harry worked at National Standard, retiring in 2001. He loved the Lord and was an active member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he held numerous positions including, Elder, Trustee, Finance Board and Vice President. He would visit elderly and shut-ins for the church. Harry loved baseball and football. He was a Detroit Lions and Tiger’s fan, he enjoyed watching Notre Dame football. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling. Harry never missed a game for his children and grandchildren. He coached youth baseball and softball. Harry loved his cat, Callie.
Visitation for Harry will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 1340 Sycamore, Niles. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the Church. Burial will follow at Mission Hills.
