Roundup: Bobcats beat Watervliet, Niles falls to Kalamazoo Central

NILES — Brandywine and Niles were on the opposite sides of boys basketball action Tuesday night.
The Bobcats won their third straight game with a 65-30 non-conference victory over visiting Watervliet.
Across town, the Vikings dropped their fifth consecutive contest as visiting Kalamazoo Central posted an 81-44 SMAC non-division victory.
Brandywine basketball
The Brandywine boys basketball team ran its winning streak to three games with a 65-30 rout of visiting Watervliet Tuesday night.
The Bobcats (6-4) opened up a 30-13 halftime lead, and never looked back.
Brandywine outscored the Panthers (6-4) 35-17 in the second half.
Derrick Miller led a balanced Bobcat offense with a game-high 18 points.
Shane Brown and Jordan Abrams both finished with 11 points.
Watervliet did not have a single player reach double figures.
The Bobcats host arch rival Buchanan Friday night. The girls teams kick off the BCS Athletic Conference Red Division doubleheader at 6 p.m. with the boys contest to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
