Erma Lee Ott, 95, of Niles, formerly of Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at West Woods of Niles.

She was born on Sunday, Sept. 10, 1922, in Calico Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Charles and the late Easter (Smith) Burgess.

Erma graduated high school and was a homemaker most of her life. On July 31, 1940, Erma wed Loy Zem Ott Jr. at a ceremony in Arkansas. Erma grew up the oldest of seven siblings and was always a caregiver. She was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Buchanan, serving as a Sunday school teacher and secretary as well as the church clerk. Erma loved collecting depression glass and was gifted at crocheting and embroidery. She will be remembered for her quick wit and love of family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gerald Ott; her siblings, Hale Burgess, Florence Mathis, Charline Stoner, Roy Burgess and Bob Burgess.

Erma is survived by her daughter, Betty Sue (Willie) Tittle, of Niles; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister Betty Hansen.

Funeral services will be take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation beginning at 11 a.m. A committal service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Cemetery Chapel in Buchanan.
