Kathryn Dircks, 82, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Buchanan Meadows following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Lithuania and came to the United States shortly after the end of World War II.

On June 20, 1953, Kathryn married the love of her life, Frederick Lester Dircks at a ceremony in Niles. A homemaker most of her life, Kathryn enjoyed gardening and canning. She was an avid bowler and delighted in dancing. Kathryn enjoyed fishing with her husband and always cherished her time with family.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, F. Lester Dircks of Niles; her children, Valerie Dircks of Niles, Vickie (Patrick) Tracy of Larkspur, Colorado and David (Valerie) Dircks of Indiana; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home. A private family burial took  place on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
