Jeanette J. Allen, 84, of Dowagiac, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at the Timbers of Cass in Dowagiac.

A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Jodi Cartwright officiating and grandson Nathan Stults. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Cancer Services, Council on Aging or Heartland Hospice. Jeanette was born on July 25, 1933, in Cassopolis to Lloyd and Leta (Playford) Keesler. She graduated from Dowagiac Central High School in 1951.

On June 21, 1952, she married the love of her life, Mac Allen in Dowagiac. Jeanette worked as a secretary for many years working at Eckman Chiropractic and at her husband’s business, Allen Construction before retirement. She was an Antlerette and member of the Dowagiac Elks and a longtime member of the Dowagiac Moose Lodge. Jeanette loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jeanette is survived by her daughters Susan (Mike) Lemmerhart of White Pigeon and Sandra (Mark) Owens of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Dr. Matthew Stults of New Haven, Connecticut and Nathan (Tracy) Stults of Findlay, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Alauna, Avery, Addison and Alex Stults and step-grandchildren Nick, Lance, and Kari Lemmerhart; siblings, Loretta Misich of Dowagiac, Mary Lou (Donald) Toy of Cassopolis, Harold Keesler of Dowagiac and Jerry Keesler of Dowagiac and many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Mac Allen on Aug. 16, 1988; step-mother, Nellie Keesler; sisters-in- law, Vada Keesler and Linda Keesler and brother-in- law, Steve Misich.
