Cathy Jean Williams, 61, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, Dec. 30, 2017, in her residence.

She was born March 19, 1956, in Niles, Michigan, one of nine children born to James and Shirley Ann Williams Jr. Her mother preceded her in death.

Cathy loved her family. She was very kind hearted and loved participating in family events.

Cathy will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her son, Lonny (Omesia Jones) Williams; five grandchildren; father, James E. Williams, Jr. of Vandalia; three chosen daughters, Angela (William) Colson of Georgia, Cora Smith of Georgia, Evelene Smith of Florida; six chosen grandchildren; four sisters, Shirlene Phillips of Cassopolis, Roberta (Leo) Rycraw of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joann (Donald) Broussard of Cassopolis, Regina (Randall) Ivens of Grand Rapids; four brothers, Ronald Williams, Lynell Williams, Robert (Denise) Williams, all of Cassopolis, Rodney (Harriett) Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at a date and time to be announced in Mason Township Baptist Church, 20109 Mason St., Cassopolis.
