Leonard M. Baldwin, 43, of Dowagiac, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1974, in Niles, to Lonnie A. and Jeanne A. (Cheney) Baldwin.

He graduated from Niles High School.

Leonard was currently employed as a welder for MORryde Fabrication in Elkhart.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He bowled and played on leagues for many years. He enjoyed classic cars and demolition derby’s.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Scott and Dale Baldwin.

Leonard is survived by his grandmother, Fern Baldwin of Niles; his father, Lonnie (Birda) Baldwin of Niles; his mother, Jeanne (Brian) Hales of South Bend; his children, Leonard Baldwin II of Cassopolis, Michelle Baldwin of Colon, Daisy Baldwin of Cassopolis, Aliyah Baldwin of Cassopolis; grandson, Leonard Baldwin III; three brothers, Alan (Crystal) Baldwin of South Bend, Brent (Keri) Baldwin of Niles and Lonnie Baldwin of Berrien Springs. He will also be missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as countless friends.

A time of visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. An interment will be at Prospect Cemetery in Cassopolis.
