Chieftains rally to beat Eddies; Edwardsburg girls rout Dowagiac
EDWARDSBURG — Visiting Dowagiac used its long-range shooting to keep Edwardsburg winless in a Wolverine Conference South Division boys basketball game Thursday night.
The Chieftains (3-2, 2-0 South) connected on eight 3-pointers, including four by sophomore Trae Brookins, to edge the upset-minded Eddies 67-57.
Dowagiac trailed Edwardsburg 14-4 after one quarter as the Eddies’ Chase Sager scored the first seven points of the game, Sager would finish with 15 points.
Trailing 20-12 following a Mac Gaideski basket with 2:45 remaining in the first half, Brookins connected on three consecutive 3-pointers to tie the game at 21-21 with 1:29 left in the second quarter.
