Thomas Warner Hauser, 81, Spring Valley, California, formerly of Cassopolis, passed to his rest on Nov. 4, 2017, at Hospice House of South Bend, after a very brief illness.

Tom was born Aug. 11, 1936, in Dowagiac; the only son of Henry & Christine (Warner) Hauser. Tom grew up in Cassopolis and later graduated from Cassopolis High School. Tom went on to attend the University of Michigan where he earned both undergraduate and law degrees. In 1965, Tom and his family relocated to San Diego, Califronia where he initially worked for the Honorable James Carter while studying for the California Bar Exam. Attorney Hauser went onto become a partner at the law firm of Casey, McClenahan, Fraley & Hauser. After much success with the firm, Tom wanted to practice as a sole practitioner, which he did until early retirement at the age of 55. Beyond the current family property in Spring Valley, Tom owned beautiful homes in Del Mar, California and a ranch in The Big Sky Country of Bozeman, Montana.

Attorney Thomas W. Hauser is survived by his three children, an only daughter, T. Michelle Hauser of San Diego; Thomas W. Hauser II of San Diego; and Andrew T. Hauser (wife, Sarah). In addition, there are three grandchildren, Craig E. Hauser-Hirsch; Zimry J. Hauser and Jayson T. Hauser. Also surviving is a sister, Marilyn Cobb of Edwardsburg and many, many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces/nephews. Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Smith.

Inurnment and services will be held at a later time at the Hauser Family Plot in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis.
