Frances M. Webster, 86, of Dowagiac, and formerly of Niles, passed away at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital, on Nov. 1, 2017.

She was born on March 3, 1931, in Detroit, to the late Matt and Eva (Stiglich) Ruzick and spent most of her childhood in Mattawan.

On June 5, 1959, Frances married James Webster at a ceremony in Niles, where the couple resided for most of their lives. Frances was first of all a homemaker. She also worked in food service for over seven years at the former T.B. Sanitarium in Kalamazoo, more than 15 years at St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend and several years at Lakeland Hospital in Niles.

Frances was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Niles. She and her husband Jim belonged to Michiana Cruisers, a club for restored and classic car owners.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Webster; two brothers, Jack and George Ruzick; a sister, Shirley Evenboer.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews as well as several special friends.

In keeping with Frances’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
