Sturgis captured the opening Wolverine Conference girls golf jamboree hosted by South Haven at Hawkshead Monday morning.
The Trojans shot 191 as a team to easily outdistance runner-up Three Rivers, which shot 212.
South Haven was third with a 216, while Dowagiac finished fifth with a 226.
The Wildcats’ Erin Taylor grabbed medalist honors with a 39.
The Chieftains’ Rebecca Franklin shot 41 and finished second overall.
Dowagiac also got a 55 from Greta Whitaker, a 63 from Lynsie Stolpe, a 67 from Peytin Lee and a 74 from Maddison Hill.
“Rebecca had a really good day finishing second overall,” said Dowagiac coach Bob Turner. “Greta is putting things together and the other girls got their feet wet and I know what to expect now.”
The Wolverine Conference is back in action Monday at Island Hills as Sturgis hosts the jamboree.
